2010 Pond from start to finish

There will be a rock waterfall and long return stream along one entire side of the pond; the readymix concrete is delivered to form the base of this feature. The pictures below show the work being carried out.

The concrete base for the filter units is being finished to exact level so the Eric units will simply drop into the 4” stubs perfectly and the 1” air supply lines to the diffuser drain tops can also be connected to the individual air pumps after installation.

Very slight change of plan!

The pond as we have seen it up to now has been demolished and the ground has been reinstated to become a driveway.

Reasons for this are many; they include the ambience of the garden; the ‘wishes’ of the owner’s wife; certain aspects to do with the year of the tiger and also much concern with matters surrounding feng shui, which is of great importance to the owner and his family.

Undeterred by all of this I have designed a new pond which is to be sited to the right of the original pond as we face the house.

This system will hold a volume of 16,000 gallons (73 tons) and is 5,000 gallons (23 tons) larger than the original design but this is no problem for the ERIC 3 units already delivered.

This is the state of play today with the new pond. The owner insists he will have it finished by the end of this month? Let’s see if this is possible!

Where Koi are concerned, very little surprises me!
