Welcome to Waddy’s site –
if it’s anything to do with Nishikigoi, you’ve clicked the right buttons.
Proper Koi Keeping’ can be simply divided into three different parts and in the following natural order of progression.
-
1. ‘THE POND’ – you build one
-
2. ‘THE KOI’ – you put them in your pond
-
3. ‘THE KEEPING’ – you learn how
In view of this my website is divided into these three parts, in that same order of division. In order to be able to understand ‘Koi Keeping’ as a ‘whole’ it is vital that we are reasonably versed in all three parts – eg. It is not wise to discuss our ‘Koi’ requirements unless we first know what our ‘Pond’ can provide – and vice-versa.
I sincerely hope the information inside my site is of some use to the majority of readers, whether completely new to the hobby or otherwise. I also apologise in advance because some of the pages are VERY LENGTHY by necessity. It may be advisable to return to the assorted pages that may be of interest on other visits and when time allows.
The vast majority of the information contained within has NEVER been read before and is 85% ‘2009-2011’ – I know, I wrote it all. However, there are newcomers to every hobby who need some information that more experienced enthusiasts will already be aware of, obviously this is also absolutely vital to include.
WARNING – Keeping Koi IS addictive. It can become an obsession – trust me, I know!
